Billy Idol - Jingle bell rock

I saw this cheesy video of Billy´s performance the other day when I was stringing up my Christmas lights and it reminded me of Bill Nighy as Billy Mack in Love Actually, see below. Tina´s post reminded me of the video.

Club Atlético

I have always been meaning to post about Club Atlético, and was reminded to do so via Robert over at Line of Sight.

At the end of October 2005, I was staying at a guest house on Cochabamba kitty corner to El Club Atlético. I would often catch the collectivo on Paseo Colón and would have to walk past this haunting memorial on a daily basis. Eerily enough every time I was standing near the memorial my ishuffle would randomly play the Gotan Project´s Confianzas, of which the lyrics are from the poem by Juan Gelman, spoken by the formidable Argentine actress, Cecilia Roth. The hair on my neck would stand up on end and shivers would run up and down my spine, as the poem is about los desaparecidos, the disappeared. Need I say more?

coman mejor o él mismo coma viva mejor

Hatched!

We welcomed Isabella Azul into the world Sunday evening, December 2nd at 10:00pm. We had gone to our company Christmas End of Year party the night before, so Papa Tango announced that Isa was going to arrive the next day. Mama said, no I want to go to your Father´s asadao, she will come lunes (Monday). After coming home at around 4am, Mama Tango woke up at 6am in the morning with some sort of funny jolts and back pain, Papa always seems to be right! Finally around 8:30pm Mama went into the contractions of 2 minutes apart, and we decided to go to the hospital. Luckily hard labour was only 20 minutes or so, although it felt a hell of a lot longer! And it is much harder to push than I thought it would be. Thankfully Isabella kept her part of the deal and came out with the least amount of effort that could be humanly possible. She weighed in at 3.16 kilos and 48cm, and lost very little weight afterwards, only 200 grams or so, which is good because Mama wasn´t sure if she was getting fed enough or not.

We love her so much, and can not help but just stare at her all day long, kiss and hold her.
